Texas A&M’s 2025 season came to an end after the Aggies’ 10-3 home loss to Miami in the first round of the College Football Playoff. With the offseason now in full swing, head coach Mike Elko and his staff are focused on landing players from the transfer portal to replenish the roster ahead of future losses, especially along the offensive and defensive lines.
In the transfer portal, two players have entered their names: sophomore linebacker Tristian Jernigan on Monday, followed by redshirt freshman safety Jordan Pride, both unsurprising additions after receiving little playing time in 2025. Pride, who recorded just one tackle after the season in the field during A&M’s 48-0 win over Samford, was a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, but was buried on the depth chart.

Right now, incoming senior safeties Marcus Ratcliffe and Dalton Brooks are expected to return next season. In contrast, freshman Rashad “Tom Tom” Johnson, who was injured most of last season, paired with incoming junior safety Myles Davis, are two names to watch in the rotation.
A four-star prospect out of Blountstown, Florida, Pride is a versatile athlete who played both ways in high school and played his final two HS seasons at the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida, where he also excelled at wide receiver. Pride will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
