Other than Ladd McConkey, not many of their pass-catchers did Justin Herbert many favors.
Of course, they hope that won’t be the case in the second year under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Though Oronde Gadsden II didn’t draw much buzz as a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he might be in line for a big role as he’s being compared to a former Pro Bowl player.

Gadsden had a strong final season at Syracuse, earning All-ACC honors after logging 73 receptions for 934 yards and seven touchdowns.
Bischoff coached Waller with the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants, and though he didn’t get the best version of him, he clearly knows what he’s talking about after spending so many years with him.
Waller’s prime was short-lived, but he was one of the most physical pass-catchers in the game when he was at his best, so this is an encouraging piece of news for Chargers fans.
Hopefully, unlike Waller, Gadsden will be able to avoid injuries and fulfill his potential for years to come.
