Maxx Crosby Believes 1 Veteran QB Would Be Great Fit With Raiders

Of all the needs the Las Vegas Raiders have right now, their biggest need is a legitimate starting quarterback.

The quarterback market this offseason isn’t outstanding, but there are a couple of veterans who could be intriguing enough for the Raiders to take a chance on them.

Maxx Crosby, their outstanding defensive end, feels future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers would do well with Las Vegas as Rodgers moves further away from the torn Achilles he suffered in September 2023, per Remy LeGoat.

“The first year off an Achilles is one of the hardest things to do. … I think he’s going to have a big year this year and I hope it’s in our town.”

Rodgers came back from that injury and remained relatively healthy in 2024, and while his numbers weren’t terrible, he also wasn’t quite his vintage self.

He threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns, but his New York Jets won just five games and missed the playoffs despite a solid cast around him on both sides of the football.

In Las Vegas, he wouldn’t have as much help, and it is an open question as to whether he would truly look more like his old self or decline further in 2025.

The Raiders need legitimate threats at running back and wide receiver and help on defense after they went 4-13 last season, but they do have a new and proven head coach in Pete Carroll, as well as an intriguing offensive coordinator in Chip Kelly.

Carroll guided the Seattle Seahawks to the Super Bowl championship during the 2013 season and Kelly helped Ohio State University win the national championship this past season as its offensive coordinator, and long-suffering Raiders fans hope the two will change the team’s fortunes.
