Hamburger Polo Club will carry a big seven-point lead into the second half of the season despite dropping a point in their final game of the autumn phase of the men’s Bundesliga.
For the second time in three days, they were held to a draw against a Hamburg rival on the last weekend before the break.
Following a Friday 4-4 draw against Club an der Alster, they drew 3-3 against UHC Hamburg.
UHC took the lead three times through Luis Bernstein’s two goals and one from Florian Sperling but Polo equalised each time through Tom Craig, Bennet Ness and Paul Smith.
In the shootout, the home side prevailed 3-1 thanks to goals from Justus Weigand, Paul Smith, and Bennet Ness, with UHC managing only one goal through Hannes Müller.
They will return to outdoor action on March 21st 2026 with a game against second placed TSV Mannheim and they will play three league matches before facing the EHL FINAL8 against AH&BC Amsterdam.
The first half has been tougher for the other German EHL team, Crefelder HTC, who sit in ninth place in the competition with three wins from 12 outings.
But they did close out the first phase with a confidence building 6-2 win over Münchner SC with three goals from Niklas Wellen.
