The International Hockey Federation (FIH), in collaboration with leading sports production company Sportzworkz, has just released an exciting half-hour film: “THE LEAGUE OF THE BEST”.
Across six episodes, the film offers a fresh, behind-the-scenes look at the FIH Hockey Pro League — the premier global hockey league where the world’s best nations and athletes compete head-to-head every year. It explores the intensity, rivalries, emotional highs and lows, and the passion that fuel this unique event.
The film stars some of the biggest international hockey athletes, including Yibbi Jansen (NED), Harmanpreet Singh (IND), María José Granatto (ARG), Tom Boon (BEL) or Sam Ward (ENG).
Created in 2019, the FIH Hockey Pro League has become an unmissable event on the global hockey calendar, offering its winners direct qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup or the Olympic Games!
“Going on trips together to places like Australia, Argentina or India is of immense value. When you get to play in front of packed stadiums… that’s exactly what players and coaches live for!” says Jeroen Delmee, coach of the men’s title-holders the Netherlands about Pro League.
“We are extremely excited for our Pro League debut in Dublin in December. We see the tournament as a vital opportunity for our squad to play consistently at the highest level throughout the year,” adds Sarah Hawkshaw, captain of the Irish women’s hockey team.
“Pro League gives us a chance to develop players as well as improve our game readiness for big competitions,” comments Shane McLeod, coach of the Belgium men’s hockey team.
