The Buffalo Sabres could use a depth defenseman and another forward
Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic: The Buffalo Sabres are going to need to acquire another defenseman before the trade deadline, one that can provide reliable minutes on the third pairing.
The Sabres do have Conor Timmins coming back from injury, as he’ll resume skating between now and when they get back to action after the break, but he’s coming off a broken leg. They still need to add depth to the blue line.
Adding a top-nine forward should also be a target for the Sabres. The Sabres should get Josh Norris and Zach Benson back after the break, but there is still lots of hockey to play.

The Philadelphia Flyers are trending to be sellers at the trade deadline
William James of Philly Hockey Now: The Philadelphia Flyers have dropped down the Metro Division and have went from casual buyers to sellers as their odds of making the playoffs have dropped to just over 10%.
There has been some speculation that they could look to make a big move, Owen Tippett or Travis Konecny (as mentioned by Nick Kypreos), either at the deadline or in the offseason. notes that the Flyers aren’t trading Konecny, who is a leader on the team and carries a full no-movement clause.
Tippett may not want to be traded, but the Flyers are deep organizationally on the wing. Could they look to include him in a big trade package for someone like St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas?
Pending RFA forward Bobby Brink is having a good season and could be one player that gets interest and possibly moved by the Fyers. He’s been linked to the Minnesota Wild.
NHL Rumors: Columbus Blue Jackets, and Who Could be Interested in Vincent Trocheck
Once again, defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen will be in the rumor mill leading up to the March 6th trade deadline. A good showing at the Olympics for Finland could increase his trade value even more. He’s been playing top-pair minutes in Philly and has looked good. It might be time to get a max return for him.
Other potential defenseman that could be moved include Noah Juulsen (maybe for a mid to late-round pick), Emil Andrae (in a package for a center), and Nick Seeler (no-trade clause). Andrae and Seeler will likely remain.
