The Minnesota Wild are one team keeping an eye on Vincent Trocheck
The Sheet with Jeff Marek: David Pagnotta said that the Minnesota Wild are one team that has been looking at New York Rangers center Vincent Trocheck.
Pagnotta: “You know, I mentioned Trocheck, one team that has been circling on him, the Minnesota Wild. And we know that Minny is not afraid to continue to make moves, and Billy Guerin has been very active.”
Marek: “Yeah.”
Pagnotta: “Before the Hughes trade, he was looking at, at a second-line, type of player. Top-six type of guy. That hasn’t really stopped.
So whether it’s going to be at the, at the center position or somebody else on the wing, but it certainly sounds like, at the very least, Minnesota has poked around on Vinny Trocheck’s availability in New York.”
NHL Rumors: Artemi Panarin, and Kiefer Sherwood
The rental market is pretty thin, so do teams turn to players with term? Three big-name options
Marco D’Amico of R.org: The quality rental pool leading up to the March 6th trade deadline is looking small. Teams may be forced to look at players with term more than they have in the past. A source:
“Teams have had to get a little more creative when it comes to trade talk. More players with term are likely to get moved before the deadline because of the small amount of sellers and rental options. It’ll make for more complicated deals, but more exciting as well.”
Players with term who could be made available.
Vincent Trocheck – New York Rangers – Three years left at $5.625 million and a 10-team no-trade list. Would be the perfect second-line center and there is interest. Would think the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, and Carolina Hurricanes would be interested.
Elias Pettersson – Vancouver Canucks – The Carolina Hurricanes and Canucks talked Pettersson last year, and earlier this year about Quinn Hughes. Hurricanes Jesperi Kotkaniemi has been brought up. A source said that Pettersson’s $11.6 million could be too much for Hurricanes ownership. A source wondered about the Philadelphia Flyers and former Canucks coach Rick Tocchet. Would the Utah Mammoth be interested?
NHL Rumors: Los Angeles Kings Need Goal Scoring, Artemi Panarin a Fit?
Robert Thomas – St. Louis Blues – Thomas, along with most Blues, haven’t had the season they’d been hoping for. A source said that Brayden Schenn and Justin Faulk are likely on the move to get younger. A source said if the Blues got a big offer for Thomas, say similar to a Quinn Hughes offer, they’d consider it. More likely an offseason deal.
