Three games survived the storm in the women`s Premiership and St Andrews University blew away Hillhead 6-0 to move to the top of the table and continued their unbeaten run. And there were six different scorers – Emily Macdonald, Lucy Jamieson, Charlotte Bosma, Hannah Coull, Amy Edgar and Iona Syme. That is the St Andrews students’ best start to the Premiership season.

Edinburgh University moved up to third with a 5-0 win at Grange. The students marched into a two goal lead in the first quarter, Jojo Muhl opened with a well worked penalty corner and then a solo run from Connie Roxburgh set up Harri Platt to finish with a deflection. Edinburgh doubled their tally in the next quarter when Cat Nelli showed composure to round the keeper and score to be followed by another penalty corner finish from Muhl. The German was also involved in the final goal in the final quarter, she picked up a rebound and forwarded the ball to Harri Bradley to finish off.

At the lower echelons of the table Uddingston`s 3-2 win at GHK was perhaps a bit of an attention grabber, and it leaves the Glasgow side still without any points, but pushes Uddy just into the top  six. Priya Wankede scored twice while Katie Watson got the other for Uddy, and Lucy Williamson and Autumn Hunter got GHK`s goals..

The only game to survive the storm in the men`s Premiership was in St Andrews where Hillhead came out on top by 2-1 for their first win of the season.  As a consequence they move up two places in the table to ninth and away from the bottom rungs.   Fraser Ward and Ton Cole were on target for the Glasgow side while Patrick Ridge scored for the students.
