Rafael Nadal dominated the French Open since winning his first title at Roland Garros in 2005. Of the Spaniard’s 22 career Grand Slam championships,14 came on the French Open’s clay courts. His French Open haul eclipses any other player in tennis history.

Carlos Alcaraz won the 2024 French Open, after besting Alexander Zverev in the final.

On the women’s side, Chris Evert is the queen of the clay. Her seven career French Open titles are the most by any woman.

Iga Swiatek won her third consecutive French Open title in the 2024 tournament, drawing her closer to Evert’s record.

New winners will rise to the top as the 2025 French Open runs May 19th through June 8th.

Let’s check out men’s and women’s singles champions throughout French Open history.
