Orreco, the world leader in applied sports science, biomarkers, and AI-driven athlete readiness, today announced the acquisition of Data Driven Sports Analytics (DDSA) — the Melbourne-based tennis analytics company that has become one of the most influential forces in elite tennis over the past five years.

tennis express pro player gear

The partnership brings together Orreco’s world-class scientific team — including sports scientists, physiologists, data scientists, and recovery experts working across the NBA, NFL, Premier League, and Olympic sports — with DDSA’s tennis-specific analytics, AI-powered computer vision, opponent scouting models, and match-performance intelligence used by some of the sport’s biggest champions.

Together, the organisations will create the first fully unified performance system in tennis, integrating biomarker-driven readiness and recovery science, AI-based match analytics, tactical patterning and opponent scouting, movement and biomechanics proxies derived through computer vision and season-long load modelling and biological rhythms.

“We are absolutely delighted to join forces with Shane and team DDSA,” said Dr Brian Moore, CEO of Orreco. “It was immediately clear to us why DDSA is the choice of Tennis champions. Their cutting edge computer vision and AI technology delivers game changing insights for players, coaches and federations.

“We are already working on applications for Football, Basketball and Olympians. Combined with our AI physiology, training, nutrition and women’s performance modules delivers a world leading platform for athletes competing at the highest levels of world sport”

This acquisition represents a shift for tennis — from isolated data sources toward an integrated, science-first ecosystem capable of supporting players’ endeavors across training, competition, recovery, and long-term development.

Performance Science Meets Player Reality

“DDSA has been a huge part of how I analyse opponents, develop my game, and make better decisions on court,” said world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in a statement provided to Tennis Now. “Teaming up with Orreco brings two leaders together with one vision—help athletes be ready to win. It’s an exciting step forward for high-performance tennis.”

Sabalenka’s comments highlight the strong player affinity for DDSA services. Three-time Grand Slam finalist Ons Jabeur was another satisfied client of Linayage and DDSA.

“Shane and DDSA helped my coach interpret complex data that influenced my preparation and helped me understand my own game at a deeper level,” the Tunisian trailblazer said. “I was proud to receive equity in DDSA, and now I’m even more excited to see DDSA join forces with Orreco. This partnership has the potential to take tennis analysis to an entirely new level.”

Issam Jellali, Jabeur’s coach touts the invaluable input that DDSA provided to team Jabeur.

“DDSA were instrumental in taking Ons from outside the top 50 to world No. 2 and into three Grand Slam finals. Their technical and tactical analytics gave us an edge not only on the court but also in off-court decision-making. Orreco’s global reputation and scientific expertise combined with DDSA’s tennis intelligence is a powerful opportunity for the future of our sport.”

According to Linayage, Orreco will only strengthen DDSA’s tactical sophistication, through scientific rigour, biological context, and season-planning intelligence grounded in physiology and recovery timing.

Sabalenka’s coach, Anton Dubrov, says DDSA provided critical support and even changed the way four-time Slam champion Sabalenka periodized her playing schedule.

“We began working with DDSA at the end of 2020 and immediately saw how their analytics improved the way we prepared,” he said. “It changed training, decision-making, and even how we structured our season.

“Orreco’s leadership in athlete readiness makes this a natural evolution. Together they can push tennis performance into entirely new territory.”

Ai Sugiyama, Japan’s Billie Jean King Cup Captain and Former World No.1 Doubles says that DDSA enlightened her from a coaching perspective as well.

“As BJK Cup Captain for Japan, I’ve seen how DDSA’s PlayerDex app transformed our match reviews and scouting. With DDSA joining Orreco, tennis will finally have a unified, science-driven performance system across training, recovery, injury management, and match analysis,” she said.

DDSA, known for AI computer vision for tennis, match analytics at the tactical, technical, and biomechanical proxy level, created PlayerDex and DDSA Trax, software to help players, coaches and analysts integrate and assimilate information to enhance tennis performance.

With the Orreco acquisition, the combined platform will provide the most complete performance picture a tennis team has ever had — spanning biology, biomechanics, tactics, training, recovery, and predictive AI.
