Aryna Sabalenka, world No.1 and tennis fashionista, is upping her game as a new brand ambassador for fabled Italian brand Gucci.
The brand shared a post of a stylish Sabalenka on Thursday, formalizing the partnership.
After her victory on Day 6 in Melbourne, the 27-year-old said “Gucci is bold and expressive. I think it’s the best fit,” as she slipped on a pair of dark Gucci shades. How’s that for brand placement?
Will we see Sabalenka walk-ons in Gucci attire in the future. Apparently, her apparel sponsor Nike will have to get on board first. Not sure that is going to happen, but maybe a collab?
“I’m not closing the door for that,” Sabalenka said, when asked if she may soon wear Gucci during walk-ons. “We’ll see. We need to unfortunately talk to Nike, as well. But I would love to see that. It’s a perfect time to bring fashion on court. Gucci is the best brand, the best fashion brand with the best designer right now.
“I think we can do really cool stuff for on court.”
Sabalenka ranked second on Sportico’s list of highest-paid female athletes last year, earning $15 million from prize money and another $15 million from endorsements. With Gucci in her stable that number could be even bigger next year.
