Here we go again.
Former UFC two-division champion, BJ Penn, was arrested and charged with violating a temporary restraining order on Thursday, according to MMA Fighting. The Hawaiian was released after posting $3,000 bail and is expected to return to family court on Friday to answer for his latest charge.
This marks the fourth arrest of “The Prodigy” within the last few weeks.
The 46 year-old Penn was recently ordered to vacate the home he shared with his mother after a series of domestic issues prompted her to seek legal protection. The UFC Hall of Famer refused to sign the protective order and prosecutors are now petitioning for a court-ordered mental health exam.
Penn claims he’s at war with “crazy identity thieves.”
Fans new to the sport likely missed the glory days of Penn. “The Prodigy” only captured one victory in his last 11 fights inside the Octagon and finished his career with a 16-14-2 record. Unfortunately, retiring from combat sports was not a retirement from fighting.
