Austin Reaves Could Command $30M Per Season On Next Contract

Austin Reaves will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason after declining the Los Angeles Lakers’ four-year, $89.2 million extension offer in June. The contract was the max the Lakers could offer at this time. Reaves is expected to re-sign with the Lakers in 2026.

“I think he will get $30 [million] plus,” one executive told ESPN, echoing multiple front office sources who were asked about the next deal Reaves could command.

Reaves has gone from an undrafted free agent to a fringe All-Star averaging 20.2 points and 5.8 assists last season.

“This is a big season for him,” one Western Conference assistant coach said. “He’d better bring it in the playoffs, because he’s got to be good enough [to pair with Doncic].”

Reaves is represented by Aaron Reilly.
