Newcastle United insist on signing AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw, who is strongly appreciated by the Rossoneri’s new boss, Massimiliano Allegri. However, the Rossoneri would be open to discussion for a fee of around 40 to 45 million euros.

Newcastle Not Giving Up on Milan’s Malick Thiaw

The Magpies are not having a great transfer window so far, as they have missed out on several targets already. Despite still pondering on getting a new striker, Newcastle are also looking to improve its backline for the upcoming season.

One of their main target to improve that defence is AC Milan’s young defender, Malick Thiaw. The German international has already rejected an offer from Como earlier this summer, but might be open to accepting Newcastle.

Reports from Sky Sport Germany claim that Thiaw is open to joining the Premier League outfit, especially since they can offer Champions League football. However, Milan are not prepared to let him leave easily, especially since he has done well in pre-season.

Milan Set Asking Price for Thiaw

Earlier this summer, the Rossoneri were open to letting the German leave for 25 million euros, but that’s not the case anymore. Milan’s new boss, Massimiliano Allegri, is happy with what Thiaw has shown in pre-season and would like to keep him.

The Rossoneri are also now keen on keeping Thiaw at the club, unless there’s an offer way above his market value. The media, notably a renowned journalist, Matteo Moretto, suggests that Milan will only sell for 40-45 million euros.

Newcastle have reportedly made an offer, but only for around 30 million euros, a number which was rejected by Milan. Now, the Magpies must decide whether they will improve their proposal or move on to a different target.

Earlier signs seem like Newcastle will try to come up with another offer that can hopefully satisfy the Rossoneri. Milan are quite relaxed as they don’t have to sell Thiaw, especially since Allegri is open to keeping the player.
