We’re only weeks away from the legendary Lee Corso’s final appearance on ESPN College GameDay. As the college football icon celebrates his birthday, ESPN shared a tribute to him that has gone viral.
Corso, who has been a part of College GameDay since the show’s inception three decades ago, turns 90 years old today. To mark the occasion, ESPN shared a 90-second clip of his greatest moments at the network through the years.
Dozens of headgear selections, quips and other signature moments through the decades were on display in the video, which has quickly gone viral.

Unmatched influence on football
Lee Corso was a star cornerback at Florida State University back in the 1950s and then embarked on a coaching career spanning three decades. He won two conference titles at Louisville and led the Indiana Hoosiers to their first bowl game win in school history.
But the greatest lasting legacy he’ll have on the sport is his iconic “Headgear Selection” where he dons a mask or costume representing the team he picked to win the featured game on College GameDay.
ESPN has made it clear that the practice will be retired with Coach Corso – rightfully so.
