Tickets to see Alabama basketball in the 2025 C.M. Newton Classic are going on sale this week.
On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Crimson Tide will face the Arizona Wildcats at Legacy Arena at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex with a tip time to be announced at a later date.
Starting Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. CT, tickets for the fifth annual event will be available through Ticketmaster.
The neutral-site matchup opponent, Arizona, finished the 2024-25 season with a 24-13 overall record and exited the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet 16.
Head coach Nate Oats reiterated the team’s excitement to have a yearly matchup in Birmingham in a press release on Tuesday.
What Nate Oats said about Alabama basketball’s return to C.M. Newton Classic in Birmingham
“The crowd brings incredible energy and the C.M. Newton Classic is a special event that gives us a chance to compete in a great environment while honoring a meaningful legacy,” Oats said.
The C.M. Newton Classic honors the life and legacy of Alabama basketball coaching legend C.M. Newton, who made strides in breaking down racial barriers during his 12-year tenure, as well as contributions to the way the game itself is played, including, but not limited to, the three-point line that Oats loves so much.
At the game, the Legacy Builder campaign will highlight Birmingham-area nonprofits that dedicate their work to the same values — diversity, inclusion and community leadership — Newton upheld prior to his death in 2018.
According to Knight Eady, a Birmingham-based sports marketing and event company, $40,000 have been donated to local organizations through Legacy Builder since the event’s inception in 2021.
