Stella Hemetsberger is your new ONE strawweight Muay Thai champ
September 6, 2025 – Bangkok, Thailand: ONE Championship (ONE), the world’s largest martial arts organization, delivered another spectacular evening of martial arts action with ONE Fight Night 35: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger.
In the main event, Austrian dynamo Stella Hemetsberger captured the vacant ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title with a unanimous decision victory over the division’s reigning kickboxing queen, Jackie Buntan.
The explosive opening frame was significant. After Buntan staggered Hemetsberger with a crisp left hook, the Austrian responded with thunderous counter right hands that floored the Filipina-American star twice, establishing a sizable lead on the judges’ scorecards early.
Despite Buntan’s relentless pressure throughout the championship rounds and moments where she hurt the resilient “Always Hungry,” Hemetsberger’s toughness and those crucial first-round knockdowns proved insurmountable.
With the historic victory, Hemetsberger claimed the richest prize in the sport of Muay Thai and became Austria’s first ONE World Champion.
In the co-main event, #3-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender Shadow Singha Mawynn authored a riveting second-round finish of #2-ranked Bampara Kouyate via technical knockout.
The opening stanza featured highly technical exchanges, as both fighters unleashed lightning-fast combinations and thunderous kicks. Shadow established an aggressive pace from the start, pressing forward while the French stylist opted for a measured counter-attacking strategy.
The Thai standout increased his intensity in the decisive second frame. Shadow uncorked a sneaky spinning backfist along the ropes that sent Kouyate crashing to the canvas, prompting the referee to call a halt to the fight for an emphatic stoppage victory.
