Charlie Kirk, a Conservative influencer and podcaster, was shot and killed at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old who cofounded Turning Point USA, was an ally of President Donald Trump, and was participating in a debate as part of his “American Comeback Tour.”
In 2020, Kirk began hosting a daily, three-hour talk show called “The Charlie Kirk Show,” in which he discussed current events and political issues.
During one of those episodes, Kirk spoke with UFC CEO Dana White.
White appeared on The Charlie Kirk Show on October 26, 2023, to discuss the UFC’s controversial sponsorship deal with Bud Light, which faced backlash due to the beer brand’s earlier promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. During the interview, White defended the partnership, emphasizing his alignment with Anheuser-Busch’s values, such as their support for veterans, farmers, and disaster relief efforts, rather than seeking support against Bud Light itself.
