Joel Embiid has “some chance” of appearing in the Philadelphia 76ers’ final preseason game on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to head coach Nick Nurse.
“I don’t think we’re there yet; it’s a little early in the week to decide,” Nurse said. “It still could go either way. I think we’ve got some thresholds to get over yet before we get to that point.”
Nurse did not mention whether Embiid would play in the Sixers’ season-opener against the Celtics on October 22.
Embiid played in an intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday and partially participated during Tuesday’s practice.
Embiid has not appeared on the court since last February.
