The Golden State Warriors got off to a great start to their season when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers.
Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler proved to be one of the best dynamic duos in the game. The Golden State Warriors got great contributions from other players too.
Jonathan Kuminga got the start and looked good in his role and Buddy Hield provided a spark from off the bench.
But there is one other Warriors player that has this NBA analyst’s attention.
Stephen A. Smith thinks Al Horford can be a ‘huge deal’ for the Golden State Warriors
The Warriors picked up Al Horford right before the season started.
Horford is 39 but he still provides an important skillset that the Warriors need. He’s also a big body that adds some nice size to their lineup.
Stephen A. Smith went as far as saying that the veteran will be a huge deal for Golden State’s title chances.
“I’m looking at Al Horford and I think this brother could be a huge, huge deal for the Golden State Warriors.
“He turns 40 in June, he’s already a champion, he’s been to two NBA Finals.
“If you have size, and you have experience, and championship pedigree and you combine that with young guys like Podziemski and Kuminga, and you see Draymond and Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry… you got something here.”
The Golden State Warriors stack up nicely in the Western Conference
Despite their aging roster, the Warriors looked great on opening night.
Curry is still playing at a high level and Butler proved that he is the ultimate sidekick.
The Warriors also displayed their strong enough supporting cast, especially if they can get Hield and others to be consistent.
The Warriors shouldn’t be overlooked in the West because this is a team that can make some noise.
