Updated November 26th, 2025: Converse Hoops has now officially announced the SHAI 001 “Winter Red,” dropping via Converse.com and partnering retailers on December 11th for $130. While any festive drops hardly need justifications to wear red and green, reportedly the inspiration from this colorway comes from the winterberry, a plant that maintains its color through frigid weather. There has been absolutely no championship hangover for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The reigning NBA champs are sitting comfortably atop the Western Conference at 17-1 as of this writing, and there’s already chatter about whether this team could challenge the 2015-16 Warriors for the best regular season record of all time.
As the Thunder push to keep that momentum alive, Converse is doing the same with the SHAI 001. On Christmas Day, Shai will face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in a holiday-themed “Winter Red” colorway, shown here for the first time. The shoe breaks from the monotone approach that has defined every release so far, introducing pine green accents on the zipper, tongue logo, outsole, and heel. It’s not a loud or over-the-top Christmas sneaker, but makes sense within the minimalist identity that’s shaped Shai’s signature line to this point.
The Converse SHAI 001 “Winter Red” is currently listed on official release calendars for December 11th, 2025. Retail is set at $130 USD. See detailed images below and stay tuned for updates in the weeks ahead.
