Week 6 of the 2025-26 NBA season came with its fair share of memorable moments. We witnessed some All-Stars return from injuries and some NBA players beef with each other and with fans. One player beefed with an entire city. Some teams’ winning streaks were snapped, while others continued. And one player took part in a dog show.
Without further ado, here are the most memorable moments from the last week in the NBA.
Pistons’ streak snapped, Thunder keep rolling
The Detroit Pistons were a bad bounce on a Cade Cunningham free throw away from notching the longest win streak in franchise history. And the players were aware of the opportunity that got away.
“We all wanted it tonight,” Cunningham told reporters. “We all wanted 14 wins; I’m not going to act like it doesn’t mean anything to us. … We all wanted to be on that side of history.”

With the Pistons’ streak snapped, the longest active winning streak belongs to the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have won 11 in a row. It’s the Thunder’s fifth double-digit win streak since moving to OKC in 2008, and the third such streak in the last calendar year. Oklahoma City leads the NBA in net rating since Nov. 7 (plus-18.9), allowing an NBA-low 101.5 points per 100 possessions in that span.
Leading the Thunder is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who tied Wilt Chamberlain with 92 consecutive 20-point games after scoring 37 points in a 123-119 win in Phoenix. OKC is 19-1. It’s the fifth time in NBA history a team has been 19-1 or better after 20 games. The 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, who notched an NBA-record 73 wins after starting 24-0, are the league’s only other defending champion to notch 19 wins within its first 20 matchups.
Raptors see their winning streak snapped in OT

The Raptors won nine in a row, their longest win streak since 2020, before seeing that run stopped by the Charlotte Hornets in overtime on Saturday night. Despite that, Toronto remains viable in the East. Since Nov. 11, the Raptors rank fourth in net rating (plus-9.5) while trailing only the Thunder in defense over that span.
Since Nov. 11, when Toronto’s win streak began, Brandon Ingram is averaging a team-high 22.7 points while being formidable alongside Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley. During the stretch, the trio is helping Toronto outscore opponents by 18.2 points per 100 possessions over a team-high 176 minutes, according to NBA.com.
During the Raptors’ latest win, against Indiana on Wednesday, Ingram had his first game-winner for Toronto, doing so against none other than former Raptor Pascal Siakam.

Tyrese Maxey joins fun at National Dog Show
Tyrese Maxey is averaging a career-high 31.7 points and is in contention to make his second All-Star game start. So, you may be wondering, when does he have time to train a dog for a dog show?

Maxey took part in the Incredible Dog Challenge Agility Show on Nov. 16 at the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, performing in front of about 15,000 spectators. His moment on the course took place between the breed judging and the group judging at the National Dog Show. A dog owner with three pups at home, Maxey brought some prior agility experience to the challenge.

“It’s been amazing. I’ve been able to just walk around and see a lot of different dogs. They’re very well trained. I wish my dogs could come here and learn some skills. … It’s a great opportunity,” Maxey said.
This probably makes you wonder what other interesting hobbies NBA players may have.
The vibes in Sacramento are off
The Sacramento Kings are having a weird week.
On Nov. 22, DeMar DeRozan said the team was “in a s—– place” emotionally after getting blown out by the struggling Memphis Grizzlies. Then Sacramento beat two good teams in the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves, showing flashes of a competitive team.
Fast forward to Wednesday, and Zach LaVine exchanged words with a fan sitting close to the court during an altercation.

After the game, the “superfan,” Devlin Carter, shared his side of the story, saying he was urging Zach LaVine to play better and, more importantly, show some effort on the defensive side of the ball.
“Basically, what happened was, after not 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 but the sixth time Zach LaVine leaves his man wide open for a 3 … I say ‘Yo, we don’t pay to watch you not play defense,” Carter said in a recorded video. “You getting paid over 40 million dollars; you only got 8 points, and we’re in the fourth quarter. You didn’t show up.”
LaVine finished the game against the Suns with 13 points and six turnovers.

Sacramento is 5-15, sitting at 13th place in the Western Conference after losing 128-119 to the Utah Jazz on Friday. The loss prompted The Athletic’s Sam Amick to wonder if the Kings are a full-on rebuild project at this point.
Klay vs. Ja
As the Dallas Mavericks and the Grizzlies headed for the exits after an emotionally charged game Saturday, Klay Thompson and Ja Morant exchanged words and needed to be separated. When Thompson was asked what Morant said that sparked their argument, Thompson said, “Nothing of intelligent depth. He was just running his mouth. He’s been running his mouth for a long time. It’s funny to run your mouth when you’re on the bench. It’s kind of the story of his career so far. Leaving us wanting more.”
Sheesh.
Thompson sounded calm as he shared his thoughts on Morant, but it barely hid how scathing the remarks were meant to be. Funny enough, it’s not the first time Thompson has had something to say about a member on this iteration of the Grizzlies. In the 2022 playoffs, the Warriors eliminated Memphis in the Western Conference semifinals, the only time a Morant-led Grizzlies team has advanced past the first round in the postseason.
After that game, Thompson spoke about a tweet from Jaren Jackson Jr., who mocked the Warriors’ mantra “strength in numbers” after the Grizzlies beat the Warriors in the regular season that year. That was a post Thompson clearly didn’t take kindly to.

Fast forward to this recent altercation, and Thompson hasn’t been impressed by these new Grizzlies, who don’t mind talking trash but haven’t had the success to back it up.
“I do actually have a lot of respect for the Grind House,” Thompson said. “Mike Conley, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol. That was a hard team to beat. This new team, though? They just talk a lot. They’ve always talked a lot. They’ve never really backed it up, either. I don’t really respect that.”
Honorable mentions
• Derik Queen versus Atlanta
Queen, the New Orleans Pelicans rookie, has been a breath of fresh air for a fan base looking for bright spots during yet another rough start to the season. For those who may be unaware, the Atlanta Hawks traded Queen to the Pelicans on draft day in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick. It was clear that Queen had some extra motivation during the Pelicans’ 115-98 loss against the Hawks, as he stole the ball late while Atlanta was dribbling out the clock, finishing with a dunk on the other end. A big no-no when it comes to the unwritten rules of the NBA.
From that point, Queen seemed to attract the ire of the city of Atlanta, with the NFL’s Falcons mentioning him in a tweet when they beat the New Orleans Saints 24-10 the next day, saying, “Marked safe from Derik Queen.”
Queen’s response was simply the date of the Pelicans’ next game against the Hawks.

In case there was any misunderstanding on what motivated Queen, he quote-tweeted an AI response from X’s AI bot Grok explaining why he is taking this “beef” so personally.

• Dillon Brooks’ revenge game against the Rockets
Phoenix’s Brooks dropped 29 points in his first game in Houston, facing a Rockets team that traded him and Jalen Green for Kevin Durant. Despite his performance, the result of Brooks’ “revenge” game would end up in Houston’s favor, as Amen Thompson and the Rockets powered through for a 114-92 win.
After the game, Brooks called out Houston’s players for flopping, something he may have insight into after spending a year under Rockets coach Ime Udoka.
