Newcastle have taken the lead within five minutes at St James’ Park against Chelsea, courtesy of Nick Woltemade.
Fans were expecting another fast start in the Premier League from the Magpies, and the players delivered exactly that.
In their first meaningful attack of the afternoon, the ball was played out wide to Jacob Murphy, who delivered a dangerous cross into the box.
It was met by Anthony Gordon, who looked destined to score himself, but for a stunning Aaron Ramsdale save.
However, Woltemade was on hand to bury the rebound, to the delight of the Geordie faithful.
Chelsea wanted a foul in the build up to the goal after a coming together between the goal scorer and Malo Gusto, but there was no foul called after a VAR check.
