With the February recruiting window quickly approaching, Penn State is working to put the finishing touches on its makeshift Class of 2026. New head coach Matt Campbell and his staff took over a recruiting class with just two players signed in the early signing period but continue to add some familiar names to the mix. After flipping a number of Iowa State commitments and signees from the Class of 2026, Penn State added one more former Cyclone recruit to the list with Elijah Reeder.
Reeder is a three-star edge rusher from New Jersey. Reeder commited to the Nittany Lions just days after taking an official visit to Penn State’s campus wiht the new staff in place. Reeder was a late addition to Campbell’s recruiting class at Iowa State with an official visit and offer just before the start of the early signing period. Reeder commited to and signed wiht the Cyclones at the start of December. But after Campbell left Iowa State for Penn State, Reeder was among the players backing out of their commitment to the Cyclones.

Reeder was offered immediately by Penn State after Campbell took the job. Missouri also extended an offer in hopes of making a late push for his commitment, but Penn State was the clear favorite.
Reeder is rated by 247Sports as the No. 9 player overall in New Jersey. With his commitment on the board, Penn State’s Class of 2026 ranking has moved up to No. 44 overall according to the updated rankings from 247Sports. That accounts for Penn State’s transfer class coming into the program as well.
