The future is now, old man. Indeed, the long-teased Nike GT Future finally touched down with the help of Wale towards the end of 2025 and has already checked off its “Metallic Silver” edition, beginning to trickle out to public hands and get its footing on the market. However, some of the most eye-catching editions we’ve caught wind of are still on the horizon rather than in the rear-view, including the Nike GT Future “Red Copper.”
It’s in a colorway like this where the Foamposite connections shine the brightest, as the molded uppers of the Future embrace color-changing materials that flit between two of the 1990s model’s most iconic looks, carrying through undertones of both “Copper” and “Eggplant.” It’s the former that first caught on in the public eye, as the aforementioned DMV seemingly busted out this colorway for the market’s first look at All-Star Weekend 2025. An eye on the details would reveal that Wale’s sample was a bit different; this public release carries its metallic shades onto the Swoosh, while the multi-hyphenate wore white in the same spot.
The Nike GT Future “Red Copper” is officially queued up for a February 20th release, but could also be in the mix for this year’s ASW festivities. Regardless, be ready for a $200 retail price upon pick-up. Watch our Sneaker Release Dates hub for more info as it comes.
