Here’s how fans reacted as Morecambe issue a statement confirming the sacking of manager Ashvir Singh Johal…
@IIleemingHD: Great decision, however, jobs not done, GET AN EXPERIENCED MANAGER IN NOW
@ohdontcry: Does anyone have any trust in the Panjab warriors appointing an appropriate replacement. My money is on the academy guy.
@GazPar81: Brilliant news, long overdue. Let’s just see who they bring in next.
@TheLegShrimp: It is going to be an emotional evening in are household! My four year old son will be back at Morecambe FC Shrimps games with me! My misses will be making a roast to celebrate and my farther in law will be coming round as well because he needs to go to the bank again!
@rooobellis: Go and get Pete Wild and don’t scrimp!
@Bobby_Brown43: The euphoria of Jason going & Ash getting the sack is probably what Hitlers death felt like. Back to the drawing board for him. So… Hire Pete Wild. Actually set up a Board Of Directors. Apologise to The Terrace, and get them back before the summer.
@cylertarter: Wanted it to work at the start. But the stories that have come out since about his demeanour and attitude towards staff, the refusal to take responsibility for things going wrong and constant smugness were only heading one way. Would have made an okay back room staff. Too soon
@CalMosFooty: Blimey, can hear the Morecambe fans cheering from here in Birmingham. Been on the cards for months this. Might be a nice guy and a good youth coach, but this was a step too far and has been since he came in. Morecambe have a significantly better chance to stay up now. #UTS 🔴
@JamieBurrell91: They have grown a backbone! OH MY WORD!
@Seagie85: Pete Wild and Andy Whing both out of work. Phil Parkinson would a good shout too, knows the division as well as the local catchment area for players. Also had Neil Sorvel has his assistant at Altrincham. This isn’t difficult, don’t mess this up Ropinder.
@chrise27007: Never like to see anyone lose their job, whether that’s football or in any industry. But this has been long overdue. The season starts now. Go all out for Pete Wild and we may have a slim chance of getting out this mess.
@DanTakesOnFooty: About time!! Genuinely didn’t think they actually do after this long. With a competent manager I think Morecambe can stay up but let’s wait and see who they decide to bring in next before we decide anything. #UTS #NationalLeague
@johnrobinson07: Be some pints drank in Morecambe tonight in celebration.
@Jordan09A: What an emotional rollercoaster today’s been. @theterracestore leaving the family first thing, now Ashvir finally leaving the club. Can’t remember being this happy over something involving Morecambe for a very long time. The war is over. ⬆️⬆️⬆️ Should never have been appointed in the first place. We have a chance to stay up now. Get the right man in and kick on. 🦐
