Caio Borralho Reacts to Potential Conor McGregor vs. Carlos Prates matchup
After rumors surfaced that his teammate Prates could face Conor McGregor, Caio Borralho was super excited about the potential matchup and immediately called Prates.”The Natural” shared his reaction with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn:
“Bro, to be honest with you, I didn’t have a clue about any of this. I promise you I saw the poster today, and right away I sent a message to Carlos, but he hasn’t responded yet. I said, ‘What the f**k. You’re gonna fight McGregor, brother? Bro, if this is true and you didn’t tell me, I’m gonna fu***ng kill you!’ That’s what I told him.”
Borralho added that if the bout does come to fruition, it will be a “freaking good fight,” but so far, he does not know if it is actually happening.
“I’m in the same spot as you guys. I hope from the bottom of my heart that this fight is gonna be true and they cam fight, as it’s gonna be a freaking good fight, brother. So I’m waiting on that, let’s see.”
If the fight does come to fruition, Borralho believes that his teammate has what it takes to beat the Irishman. While giving his two cents on how the potential bout could play out, the 33-year-old, who is also a fan of the Dubliner, added:
“I don’t think it’s a good fight for Conor McGregor because they’re both southpaws, Carlos will kick him a lot in the calf, and he’s got bigger knockout power. I don’t think it’s a good fight for McGregor.

Carlos Prates, however, confirmed yesterday that the UFC brass has not reached out to him till now about fighting Conor McGregor. Although the Brazilian would love to fight the Irishman, for now, he has his crosshairs on Jack Della Maddalena and believes beating “JDM” could earn him a title shot.
Caio Borralho, on the other hand, will return to action in the co-main event of UFC 326 against Reinier de Ridder.
