TEAM NEWS
Carrick revealed after the Palace game that both Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw had been feeling unwell ahead of kick-off, the latter forced to withdraw midway through the first half following a collision with Daniel Munoz.
“They just weren’t feeling too well,” the head coach revealed. “So, hopefully, they will be feeling better soon.” Whether that recovery comes quick enough for the tight turnaround to our Newcastle meeting remains to be seen.
Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt were not in the squad against Oliver Glasner’s side. Carrick could provide further updates on that trio in his media duties ahead of Wednesday’s match.
Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is our only other sidelined player, as he continues his recovery from an injury sustained in January.
Bruno Guimaraes, Fabian Schar, Lewis Miley, Tino Livramento and Emil Krafth are all likely to be missing for the hosts, with Jacob Ramsey another potential doubt through illness.
