Four Metro Athletic Conference standouts are set to play on one of Ohio high school football’s grandest stages — The North South Classic at Paul Brown Stadium in Massillon.

Field’s Drexal McAmis and Ravenna’s Robert Melzer are set to join Streetsboro’s Jackson Gula and Cohen Klimak on Team North for Divisions IV through VII.

Klimak, who helped lead the Rockets to a 12-1 record under center, ran for 1,290 yards (9.6 per carry) and 36 touchdowns, while passing for 793 additional yards. The John Carroll commit finished his career with 3,697 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns, to go with 2,188 passing yards and 22 touchdowns against seven interceptions.

Gula, a star defensive back for all four years of his high school career, had a team-high seven interceptions this past season along with 118 tackles, which was second on the team. Gula finished his career with a whopping 400 tackles.

McAmis ran for a whopping 1,693 yards (6.7 per carry) to lead the Falcons to a 9-3 record. The Ashland University commit topped 1,150 rushing yards in each of the last three seasons to finish his high school career with 4,815 (and 54 touchdowns).

Melzer was incredibly active on the defensive line, racking up 87 tackles, five sacks, four passes batted down, four quarterback hurries and three tackles for loss for the Ravens. Melzer also excelled at tight end with 23 receptions for 248 yards.

The North South Classic consists of two games featuring the top senior football players in the state as selected by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association. The first game, set for April 26 at 11 a.m., will feature seniors from Divisions I through III. The second game, which will begin roughly 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first, will feature players from Divisions IV through VII.

Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at the gate on game day or online at https://ohsfca.bandmtechnologies.com/tickets.
