Welshman Roan Crocker made only his second professional walk to the cage this weekend at Cage Warriors 201. Across the cage was Dara Ward, a promising Irish prospect returning to the cage after 18 months of inactivity.
The 26 year old had an extensive and very impressive amateur career with a record of 16-3 before making his professional debut in February 2025. The decorated Welshman picked up numerous belts throughout his amateur career across multiple weight classes and competed exceptionally in many tournaments including the Four Nations Tournament for EMMA and the IMMAF World Championships. Roan Crocker has already won belts under Cage Warriors Organisation within the Cage Warriors Academy. His biggest scalp at amateur is the current Cage Warriors Welterweight king Sean Clancy Jr whom is on the verge of a UFC call up.
The welterweight trains out of Shore Mixed Martial Arts, an excellent Welsh gym producing some of the greatest Welsh fighters in MMA history, most notably Jack Shore and current UFC welterweight fan favourite Oban Elliott.
Destructive Debut For Roan Crocker
Roan Crocker was bouncing in and out of range well early on and successfully shot in for a single leg on the Irishman. Immediately he bounced back up but Crocker adjusted and jumped on to take the back in seconds. Ward walked to the cage with Crocker already locked onto his back hunting for a submission. The body triangle was synched up and the Welshman began squeezing on a neck crank moments later with minor adjustments found the rear naked choke and got the tap.
