Zuffa 07 heads to the United Kingdom on June 6, with Chris Billam-Smith facing Ryan Rozicki in a cruiserweight main event at the Bournemouth International Centre.
The move places Zuffa Boxing in a key market with a fight that carries real weight in the division, not a soft introduction card to ease its way in.
Whoever comes out on top will be in line as the next challenger for the Zuffa cruiserweight belt.
Credible main event
Billam-Smith enters off a decision win over Brandon Glanton in April 2025, a result that ties directly into Zuffa’s early events. Glanton subsequently clashed with Jai Opetaia for the promotion’s 200-pound title earlier this year.
The Bournemouth native’s previous victory came over Richard Riakporhe in 2024, reinforcing his standing at world level despite a points loss to Gilberto Ramirez in between.
On the other side, Rozicki brings a different kind of profile. The Canadian remains positioned at the top end of the division as the WBC’s number one contender, but his progress has been slowed by injuries and boxing politics.
He has fought only twice in the past two and a half years, leaving his momentum stalled despite staying firmly in the title picture.
A second-round knockout win over Gerardo Mellado in March signaled his return, and the agreement to compete under the Zuffa banner now places him in position to secure the kind of fights that have previously proved difficult to make.
“Everything is now in place for me to succeed at the highest level,” Rozicki said. “I’m already training and ready for my next opportunity.”
Activity and matchmaking
Zuffa’s growing presence at cruiserweight — with Opetaia, Billam-Smith, and Glanton under the same banner — offers a level of matchmaking that has often been missing elsewhere.
With multiple world-rated fighters aligned, the path to meaningful fights becomes far more direct for Dana White’s new venture.
That is the backdrop to this contest. Both fighters arrive with credible claims — one established at world level, the other long waiting for opportunity — in a matchup that reflects a clear intention to make fights that the sport has too often failed to get over the line.
The June 6 card in Bournemouth represents the chance to take Zuffa on the road.
If Zuffa can keep its own fighters active, as heavyweight signing Otto Wallin explained to WBN in an exclusive interview this week, and match them against each other at this level, it solves a problem the rest of the sport has spent years talking around without fixing.
