Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is excited to see where two of his players, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, end up during the 2025 NFL Draft in a few weeks.
Hunter and Sanders are widely expected to be top-five picks since they are two of the best players in this draft. Sanders is one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft while Hunter can do it all as a wide receiver or cornerback.
Both players took part during Colorado’s Pro Day on Friday and if you ask Deion, he thinks Hunter and Sanders should be the first two picks in the draft.

“It’s tremendous. They should be going 1-2, that’s the way I feel about it. They are the two best players in this draft,” Sanders said, via ESPN’s Jeff Legwold. “The surest bets in this draft are those two young men, and I didn’t stutter or stammer when I said that.”
Hunter won the Heisman Trophy after excelling at two positions in 2024. He finished the season with 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver and 35 total tackles, 11 passes defended, one forced fumble, and four interceptions as a cornerback.
Sanders was one of the top quarterbacks in college football, finishing with 4,134 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Together, they helped the Buffaloes win nine games, their most wins in a season since 2016 when they won 10 games.
It will be a great moment for Coach Prime when both players get selected in the first round but we’ll see if they go first and second overall when the 2025 NFL Draft starts on April 24.
The 2025 NFL Draft will go through April 26 and occur in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
