JJ Redick was in awe of one Lakers star who put on a stellar performance against the OKC Thunder.
The Los Angeles Lakers just picked up a statement win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was a brilliant performance from them as a team.
Lakers fans were understandably hyped over their side picking up the W on the road. One particular Lakers star had arguably the most important performance of the night.
The defensive efficiency from the Lakers was absolutely incredible. In fact, the Lakers held the Thunder to under 100 points, becoming just the third team this season to do so.
But one player in particular earned a lot of praise from JJ Redick, as he came into an incredibly difficult game and delivered the goods.

JJ Redick praises Luka Doncic
Speaking after the game, JJ Redick had a lot of praise for Luka Doncic‘s performance. The Slovenian superstar dropped 30 points against the Thunder.
He noted that Doncic was clinical from deep. Redick also applauded Luka for regularly facing the best defender on the opposing team and embracing that challenge.
“Luka, just his ability to make 3s… We got some great uncontested corner 3s… I just thought the movement, the spacing, and the intent was great all night.”
“I think he relishes the challenge. You’re gonna get the best defender every night. You’re gonna get all the different coverages every night when you’re him… Luka did some special things tonight.”

Doncic coming alive for Lakers
Luka Doncic struggled in his first few months with the Lakers. While his numbers improved almost immediately, his performances were still missing something.
Tonight, he reminded fans of what he’s capable of at his absolute best. Going 11-20 from the field and 5-11 from deep, Doncic had one of his most efficient games with the Lakers.
This performance will be a big confidence booster, not just for Luka but for the Lakers. The team is aiming to win a championship this season.
And they know that at some point, they’re likely to face the OKC Thunder in the playoffs. Getting a big win over the best team in the NBA is a massive achievement.
