The Atlanta Braves opened the 2025 campaign in disappointing fashion, dropping game one of four against the San Diego Padres 7-4. The Braves got an early start and scored in the first inning, but a lack of timely hitting, a relatively underwhelming start from Chris Sale, and a lackluster bullpen performance resulted in the lead-blowing Opening Day loss.

Fortunately, the good guys did log two homers, one off the bat of Ozzie Albies and the other from Austin Riley. Even more fortunate? The Braves get back to work behind Reynaldo López tonight at 9:40 ET.
