Gonzaga’s all-time leading scorer in men’s basketball program history went undrafted back in 2023. After stops in the G-League with the Wisconsin Herd, Stockton Kings, and Long Island Nets, a big club in the Brooklyn Nets finally took a chance on Drew Timme. The 6’10 power forward has been killing it in the month of March, nothing new for him on the college or professional basketball level.

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a two-year deal with Drew Timme, league sources told @hoopshype. Timme recently was named G League Player of the Week, averaging 35.7 points and 12.7 rebounds. Timme also had a career-high 50 points. pic.twitter.com/rLRTYt39VB

Timme won this past G-League’s Player of the Week Award after averaging 35.7 points on 64 percent from his three-pointers to go along with 12.7 rebounds per game. Timme put in a career-high 50 points against the Motor City Cruise on March 22nd, shooting 21-for-26 from the field (81 percent). This specific performance caught the attention of Brooklyn scouts and general manager Sean Marks.

Whether the deal is a two-way or a guaranteed contract hasn’t been disclosed yet. Regardless, Timme is deserving of this opportunity. The Zag legend proved himself through just how dominating he has been in the G-League for a while now and is ready for the next level.

This is a smart move for an organization that won’t be making the NBA Playoffs this season and is looking for potential role/bench pieces to stand out in the future. A total rebuild is in the works at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Timme should be involved in some sort of fashion.

Along with Timme, Anton Watson recently signed a two-way contract with the New York Knicks. Two of the focal points in the recent Gonzaga culture will be trying to make their stamp out on the East Coast.
