Sporting News announced MLB awards winners on Thursday morning, and multiple Brewers players and personnel took home some more hardware.
After another great regular season (let’s never speak of the NLCS again), Pat Murphy collected his second consecutive NL Manager of the Year award from Sporting News, while newly promoted President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold also won his second consecutive Executive of the Year award from the organization.
Murphy and Arnold helped guide the Brewers to a franchise-record 97 wins in 2025, despite losing multiple key pieces from their NL Central-winning 2024 team, which won 93 games.
On the field, outfielder/DH Christian Yelich won Sporting News’ NL Comeback Player of the Year, while second baseman Brice Turang was named an NL All-Star.
Yelich, 33, missed the second half of 2024 after undergoing back surgery. Ready to return to begin the season, he struggled in the early going, but ultimately found his stroke come mid-May. For the year, Yeli played in 150 games, hitting .264/.343/.452 with 29 homers, 103 RBIs, 88 runs, and 16 steals, totaling 3.1 bWAR as the team’s primary DH.
Turang, 25, took a “Quantum Leap” in 2024 and then took an even bigger leap in 2025. The reigning NL Platinum Glove winner continued to play solid defense (albeit below his insane 2024 season), but he added the bat to the mix. Across 156 games, Turang hit .288/.359/.435 with 18 homers, 81 RBIs, 97 runs, and 24 steals, totaling 5.5 bWAR, tied with Freddy Peralta for the top mark on the team.
