In the rubber match of the series against the Royals, the Dodgers faced what looked like their worst matchup with Kris Bubic on the mound for the Royals against a quasi-pen game led by Justin Wrobleski. However, Wrobleski continued to breakout with six shutout innings, as the Dodgers offense did enough to secure a 5-1 victory.

======

After Lou Trivino started the game by giving up a run in the 1st as an opener, it was Enrique Hernandez in the 2nd who got the Dodgers the lead with a two-run blast.

Later, a Will Smith homer made it 3-1.

For insurance it was Max Muncy doubling and Miguel Rojas singling to make it 5-1.

The story, of course, was the continued breakout of Justin Wrobleski, who out-pitched the Royals ace by going six shutout innings and looking dominant doing it.

He kept the Royals quiet despite not having more than the narrowest advantages for the most part: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K, 83 Pitches.

The pen closed the game from there, as Kirby Yates got a scoreless 8th and Jack Dreyer got a perfect 9th to close it.
