After splitting a pair of games yesterday to begin their spring training schedule, the Cincinnati Reds are on the road this afternoon and have just one game on the docket. They’ll be taking on the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium at 3:05pm ET. There’s no video broadcast of this game, so it’s going to be a radio-only affair.

News and Notes
Sal Stewart is a beast
Starting at second base today is Sal Stewart, one of the Cincinnati Reds top 10 prospects. He missed the second half of the 2024 season after injuring himself during the All-Star break and eventually requiring wrist surgery. Mark Sheldon of Reds.com has up an article about Stewart some of his offseason preparations, which have long included training with San Diego Padres infielder Manny Machado. The 6-time All-Star had a lot of really good things to say about Stewart. Here’s the link, which you should click on and go read.
An additional televised game
We’ve been keeping the Reds television schedule for spring training updated right here. Today we learned that we’re going to be getting one more game to watch. MLB Network will be showing the March 16th Spring Breakout game. The Spring Breakout series began last year and it’s where each organization puts together a team of their minor league prospects to face off against another organization’s team of prospects. In 2024 the Reds played in two of these games, but this year they will only be playing in one of them.
