Coming off back-to-back losses to the Rockies and Mariners, the Brewers are looking to bounce back Tuesday afternoon in a matchup with the Cleveland Guardians.
MLB’s No. 100 prospect (and Brewers’ No. 4 prospect) Jacob Misiorowski will take the mound to start for the first time this spring.
Misiorowski, who was used as a starter through the lower levels of the minors before making 12 relief appearances at Triple-A Nashville in 2024, is coming off a solid season, albeit with control concerns. Across 97 1⁄3 innings, he struck out 127 hitters but walked 60 and hit 13 batters. Still, he finished with a 3.33 ERA, including a sterling 1.84 ERA with 19 strikeouts compared to seven walks in 14 2⁄3 innings as a reliever.
Beyond Misiorowski, you can also watch for Bryan Hudson, Connor Thomas, and Vinny Nittoli, who are also slated to pitch. Nittoli is the only one of those to have already pitched this spring, allowing one run over an inning of work in Saturday’s win over the Reds.
Today’s lineup doesn’t feature many expected starters, though one interesting thing to note is star outfielder Jackson Chourio sliding down to the three spot in the order. Caleb Durbin gets the start at third base and bats leadoff, followed Cooper Pratt who starts at shortstop. Andruw Monasterio is at second base and Jake Bauers rounds out the infield at first.
