Tampa Bay Rays Minor League Roundup: Week 19

This week’s minor league roundup will only feature the numbers accumulated prior to the start of play on Wednesday.

This was the 19th week of minor league play.

According to FanGraphs (which factors in age and proximity to the big leagues),newcomer Jadher Areinamo remains the top hitter in the Rays system; the Rays acquired the 21-year old infielder from Milwaukee fpr Danny Jansen. Thus far in 2025, Areinamo is hitting .297/.355/.463 with 11 HR and 15 stolen bases, registering a 122 wRC+ over 415 PA in High-A. He made his Double-A debut last week and is hitting .190/.182/.286 with a 30 wRC+ over 22 PA.

Meanwhile, Ty Johnson continues to be the team’s top minor league pitcher. The 23-year old came to the Rays as part of the return for Isaac Paredes and is having a fantastic season. Over 20 games — 14 starts — Johnson has compiled a 2.59 ERA | 2.54 FIP with a 34.7 K% & 10.1 BB% over 80 IP.

The Rays made a large series roster moves following the trade deadline and draftee assignments. Here are several of the notable ones:Trevor Harrison promoted to High-AT.J. Nichols promoted to Double-ANoah Myers to Double-AYoniel Curet promoted to Triple-AAndrew Stevenson was released
