According to FanGraphs (which factors in age and proximity to the big leagues), newcomer Jadher Areinamo remains the top hitter in the Rays system; the Rays acquired the 21-year old infielder from Milwaukee for Danny Jansen in late July.
Meanwhile, Ty Johnson continues to be the team’s top minor league pitcher. The 23-year old came to the Rays as part of the return for Isaac Paredes and is having a fantastic season in Double-A.
The Rays allowed the Braves to take Ha-Seong Kim from them on the waiver wire, paving the way for Carson Williams to fully become the team’s starting shortstop.Aidan Smith has been scorching over the past two weeks; since August 15th, he is hitting .383/.431/.617 (201 wRC+ over 63 PA).Nathan Flewelling, the Rays 3rd round pick in 2024, is quietly putting together a solid debut season and has been performing better as the season progresses.
