With no White Sox comeback to tune into Thursday, Sox affiliates tried their best to fill the gap. The Knights clawed back from a five-run deficit to win in extras, the Dash scored six in the ninth to stun the Hub City Spartanburgers, and the DSL White Sox erased an early four-run hole, even though they fell short in the end.
George Wolkow left the yard twice for the first time this season, Ryan Galanie went deep for the Knights, and Lucas Gordon twirled a quality start for the Barons.
All this and more in today’s farm report!
Triple-A Charlotte Knights (44-34)
The Knights trailed 4-0 and 6-1 before coming back to take down the Rochester Red Wings 7-6 in 11 innings. Ryan Galanie and Korey Lee each launched their 11th homers of the season in the comeback, with Caden Connor‘s two-run blast in the eighth tying the game and setting up extras. After a scoreless tenth, Andy Weber brought Lee home on a ground ball that Red Wings’ second baseman Phillip Glasser couldn’t get a handle on.
After Jonathan Cannon allowed six runs (three earned) over four innings of work, the bullpen was sterling the rest of the way. Jairo Iriarte, Peyton Pallette, Garrett Schoenle, and Ben Peoples combined for seven scoreless innings. Pallette struck out three of the six batters that he retired.

Double-A Birmingham Barons (26-46)
Things aren’t going well for the Barons right now. They’ve won just two of their last 11 games, and have now dropped six straight with Thursday’s 5-1 loss to the Knoxville Smokies. The Barons’ only run came courtesy of an Alec “don’t call me Makarewicz” Briley solo shot in the eighth. Briley now has 15 homers on the season, 14 of which have come in AA.
Lucas Gordon’s eight-strikeout quality start also went to waste in the loss. Gordon’s eight punchouts tie a season high for the southpaw, who now has a trio of eight-strikeout games under his belt this year.
Dylan Campbell (RF): 1-for-4
Alec Briley (3B): 1-for-4, HR, R, RBI
Anthony DePino (1B): 2-for-3, 2B, BB

High-A Winston-Salem Dash (41-31)
Everything was working offensively for the Dash on Thursday in their 14-9 win over the Hub City Spartanburgers. The team totaled ten hits, with seven different starters picking up base-knocks. The only two who didn’t land in the hit column — Kyle Lodise and Ely Brown — drew a combined seven walks amid a 13-walk day from the patient Dash.
George Wolkow launched a pair of homers in the win. It was the slugger’s first multi-homer game with the Dash, and his first since June 2024. Wolkow now has 12 homers on the year, one short of his career high.
Dash pitching made the potential blowout a true slugfest, and Winston-Salem actually trailed 9-8 entering the ninth. Alex Ungar put the team ahead in the final inning with a grand slam, and Wolkow and Boston Smith tacked on some insurance with sac flies.
Kyle Lodise (SS): 0-for-2, 2 R, 3 BB, 2 SB, HBP
Ryan Burrowes (3B): 2-for-4, 2B, 3 R, 2 BB

In fact, Jaden Fauske and Matthew Boughton accounted for all three of Kannapolis’ hits in the loss, with Fauske recording a pair of singles and Boughton notching a double.

ACL White Sox (12-27)
For once, it was the ACL White Sox putting a hurting on their opponent, instead of the other way around. The Sox sank the ACL D-backs 12-1 thanks to a nine-run third inning. Jose Mendoza went deep for the eighth time this year in the win, while Steven Lancia drilled his first homer as a member of the organization.
Justin Fuson picked up his first win of the season, going five scoreless innings. Fuson has now put together back-to-back starts of at least five innings with one or fewer runs allowed. Cesar Familia covered the final two frames, allowing just an unearned run.
