It’s a good thing the White Sox scored 22 runs yesterday, since their six affiliates combined for just 13 as all six suffered losses. The Dash led the way with five runs, the ACL White Sox scored three, while the Knights, Barons, Cannon Ballers, and DSL White Sox each scored two or fewer.

Highlights were few and far between. George Wolkow picked up an RBI double for Winston-Salem, Noah Schultz performed admirably in his third rehab start, and Jaden Fauske picked up two hits at the top of the Ballers’ order.

All this and more in today’s farm report!

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (44-35)

Noah Schultz looked sharp in his third rehab start, but it wasn’t enough for the Knights, who fell 6-2 to the Rochester Red Wings on Friday. Schultz allowed two runs on three hits over 4.2 innings while striking out seven. It was his longest outing since May 18. The bullpen conceded four more runs after Schultz’s departure.

Nolan Jones drove in both of Charlotte’s runs in the loss, plating Korey Lee with a double in the fifth and Dustin Harris with a sac fly in the eighth.

The Barons played the Knoxville Smokies close, but suffered their seventh straight loss on Friday, 3-2. The offense picked up its share of hits, with Caleb Bonemer giving Birmingham the lead with an RBI single, Alec Briley adding his 14th double, and Colby Shelton legging out his first AA triple. Three Barons also picked up their first AA steals in the loss: Bonemer, Anthony DePino, and Grant Magill.

Phil Fox fired another 1.2 scoreless innings in relief, lowering his ERA to 2.25 on the season and his WHIP to 0.75. The 2024 7th-round pick has allowed just 15 hits and 3 walks across 24.0 innings of work this year.

High-A Winston-Salem Dash (41-32)

The Dash fell 6-5 to the Hub City Spartanburgers in an eleven-inning heartbreaker. Winston-Salem squandered a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh, and failed to score their free runner in either the tenth or eleventh innings.

Although he didn’t homer, George Wolkow stayed hot with a first-inning double that plated two. Bryce Eblin and James Taussig later homered to extend the Dash lead.

Mathias LaCombe covered 2.1 scoreless innings in relief, recording all seven outs via strikeout. LaCombe now has 36 punchouts in 23.0 innings this year, and 109 in 76.1 across his professional career.

The Sox fought back in their half of the first, scoring on a Yordani Soto triple and a Steven Lancia groundout. D’Angelo Tejada‘s sixth-inning single brought in the Sox other run.
