Damian Lillard is entering a new chapter of his career in pretty much every way possible. Within hours of this writing, it was announced that the Milwaukee Bucks plan on waiving the All-NBA guard following his devastating achilles injury in last season’s playoffs. For our purposes, adidas is gearing up to release his tenth signature sneaker, making him the only other Three Stripes athlete alongside D-Rose to notch double-digit models with the brand (at least until the next James Harden shoe comes out). Following official images of a whole slew of colorways, adidas has officially announced the Dame X alongside performance details and official nicknames for all rollout looks.
Five adidas Dame X colorways are set to launch Fall 2025, including four for adults and one GS-exclusive. The most notable of the bunch is a multi-color pair dubbed “Dame’s Light,” taken in attention-grabbing green with flashes of orange and blue. Then comes a black pair named “Brookfield” after Lillard’s hometown village in Oakland, CA, followed by a black/red “Dolla Red” colorway inspired by the hooper’s rap pseudonym. A crisp white/black/green pair called “Zero Metallic” rounds out the adult lineup, while the GS-exclusive cleans up in black/teal/grey.
As for the performance side of things, the Dame X features a Lightstrike midsole, stretch-woven upper, and generative rubber outsole for ample bite. The model retails for less that $100 in adult sizing; a first for any adidas Basketball signature shoe. In giving the model its due, adidas brought WNBA stars Sophie Cunningham and Chelsea Gray in for the campaign (as seen above).
