Jordan Brand continues to play the hits with new Air Jordan 40 styles inspired by past icons, leaning on its stable of NBA talent to help introduce them. The latest comes courtesy of Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo, who gave us our first-ever look at the Air Jordan 4020 during game action against the Brooklyn Nets last night.
The Air Jordan 20 originally released in 2005, commemorating Michael Jordan’s then 20-year history with Nike, Inc. through a fully laser-etched strap inspired by his career timeline. It remains the only Air Jordan model to make laser detailing a core design feature, though a laser-detailed Jordan 3 did precede it for MJ’s 40th birthday in 2003. A strong retro run in 2015 for the silhouette’s 10th anniversary helped keep the AJ20 firmly in the public consciousness.
Like other notable hybrids such as the Jordan 4016 and 4028, the 4020 successfully integrates Air Jordan 20 hardware into a modern framework. The signature laser-etched strap takes center stage, rendered here in a clean white-on-white finish. White patent leather covers the forefoot, contrasted by a black heel and a patterned red interior.
Official images should provide a clearer breakdown as we get closer to release, though no firm date has been announced as of this writing. Precedent suggests a Spring/Summer 2026 drop. Keep our Jordan Release Dates page bookmarked for the latest updates.
