The NBA has set the salary cap for the 2026/27 season at $164.981 million, with the luxury tax level at $200.428m.
It will not be long before players earn upwards of $1m per regular season game, but the current highest salary is $62.587m.

Stephen Curry will be the highest-paid NBA player in the 2026/27 season, earning more than $62m with the Warriors.
The Warriors, who are linked with signing LeBron James, also have the 10th-biggest contract: Jimmy Butler’s $57m deal.
Nikola Jokic ($59m) is in second, while Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum will each earn $58m.
Tatum’s former Celtics teammate, Jaylen Brown ($57m), who was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, also makes the top 10.
2026 NBA champion Karl-Anthony Towns ($57m), Devin Booker ($57m), and Joel Embiid ($58m) complete the list.

Six other NBA stars will earn at least $50m next season, including Kawhi Leonard ($50m) and Donovan Mitchell ($50m).
Jamal Murray ($50m), following the best season of his career, is the second Denver Nuggets player in the top 15.
36-year-old Paul George ($54m) may be the least deserving name on the list, as the 76er is no longer an All-Star-caliber player.
Rising stars Cade Cunningham ($50m) and Evan Mobley ($50m) are likely to receive much bigger contracts in the future.
