LaMelo Ball’s PUMA MB.01234 Is A Hybrid Of His First Four Signature Shoes

In a variety of ways, PUMA’s treatment of LaMelo Ball is nothing short of extraordinary. This side of established legends like LeBron James, few athletes enjoy the sheer slice of the catalog that the Chino Hills product currently does, obviously maintaining his signature line, but tacking on two lifestyle models onto that “main event.” Further, the Big Cat and the Charlotte Hornet have toyed with some unconventional release milestones, including letting loose a retro of the PUMA MB.01 before the ink was dry on the MB.03.

Continuing to dance on the cutting edge, in comes the PUMA MB.01234, making good on its title with a mashup of his first four signature styles. With the overall shape largely remaining intact, it’s the spaces between that speak to this hybrid construction, beginning with the .01 sole unit. In the uppers, concepts from each shoe speak to the crossover; the flame motif from the .02 dances on the lateral side, the claw marks from the .03 appear on the medial, and the deconstructed overlays of the .04 influence the design towards the heel. None of Melo’s material has shied away from expressive palettes, making each of these components fit for this hi-vis green and pink palette.

The PUMA MB.01234 is already available via select overseas retailers, with a wider launch via PUMA likely to be announced in short order.
