No figure has been as central to Kevin Durant’s story as his mother. Long before he became one of basketball’s most prolific scorers, she was the steady force behind him — raising KD as a single mother throughout the earlier chapters of his life. When Durant said “You the real MVP” while receiving his MVP award in 2014, it cemented her role in the larger KD narrative. Now Nike continues to honor that relationship with a Nike KD 18 dedicated to Wanda Pratt.
This release joins other recent and upcoming family-inspired KD 18 colorways, including pairs dedicated to his late grandmother, his father Wayne Pratt, and one from the long-running “Aunt Pearl” series. Earlier this year, Nike also revisited Durant’s iconic MVP speech with two dedicated KD 4 styles.
The “Wanda Pratt” KD 18 is dressed in a Mint-colored base with Kinetic Green accents. Phantom suede panels wrap the toe and heel, while the Swoosh, laces, and branding arrive in Midnight Turquoise. “Wanda” text repeats across the lining, while a British Khaki outsole completes the look.
