More often than not, the most significant Christmas basketball shoe of the year belongs to LeBron James. The King’s signature Nike line has delivered some of the most memorable Christmas releases ever, including LeBron 7 and 8 styles plus a strong run from the LeBron 10 through the LeBron 13 (polarizing as some of those models may be). Now comes another headline entry in the Nike LeBron 23 “Stocking Stuffer,” set to lead Nike Basketball’s annual Christmas lineup with a release the day after the holiday.
Assuming LeBron suits up for the Lakers vs. Rockets matchup on December 25th this year, it will mark his 20th career Christmas Day game, breaking his own record (Kobe is second at 16). LeBron also holds the record for most Christmas wins with 11, a mark he previously shared with his former Miami teammate Dwyane Wade before surpassing it last year.
As for the sneaker itself, the LeBron 23 “Stocking Stuffer” features an iridescent icy blue finish across the crown, teal soles, and red fabric up top designed to resemble flannel pajamas. The tongue appears in purple leather with light green piping, overlaid by a separate leather panel housing LeBron’s signature and gold bolts reading “best ever.” The most overt holiday detail lives on the heel, where LeBron’s classic “LJ” crown logo is split into two stockings filled with coal, inspiring the nickname and subtly nodding to his defensive prowess. As with all LeBron 23 releases, the pair comes with a special crown-shaped gold box and dust bag.
The Nike LeBron 23 “Stocking Stuffer” lands December 26th via Nike SNKRS for $210 USD. See official images below if these are on your holiday wish list.
