Walker Allen, son of UConn legend and NBA Hall of Famer Ray Allen, will follow in his father’s footsteps and play basketball in Connecticut next year.
The Hotchkiss School in Salisbury announced on Instagram Wednesday that Allen, a 2025 graduate from Gulliver Prep in Key West, Florida, will be joining its program for the upcoming season.
“Walker Allen is a dynamic point guard who excels at making others better. He understands the game at a high level and will make an immediate impact on our program! He’s joining Hotchkiss as a member of the class of 2026!” the school’s social media post read.
Allen is listed as a 5-foot-8 guard on MaxPreps.com. According to MaxPreps, he played in 27 games at Gulliver Prep last season and averaged 2.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
Ray Allen served as the boys varsity coach at Gulliver Prep in addition to his position as director of boys’ and girls’ basketball at the school from 2021 through 2024, also coaching his oldest son, Ray Allen III, who played his college freshman season as a walk-on at Rhode Island before transferring to Division III Emerson last year.
